I have looked at Ollie Murs because he is also something that i would like to replicate for my magazine star, he has a type of swag that is so cool but he doesn't have to show it all of on TV or in videos he can just be himself, this is why i would like to replicate this image because it is inviting and shows confidence. I have shown 4 images of Ollie Murs because i wanted to show that i could use a serious look ie in the picture in the top left and bottom left, or a happy smiley picture and a image where ollie looks like hes telling us to shush. These pictures show a variety of what i could do with my own magazine star. i have alos chosen these 4 images because of such things as a balck a white theme and also props; the props used (camera and hat) allows me to think about having other things in the photo apart from just the magazine star. the black and white effect is striking and effective as it draws us towards the main image, i would like to see if this would work with my magazine front cover if appropriate.

I am currently looking at male solo pop artists as I am looking to replicate this into my own magazine star. The look he gives shows us he is confused due to his facial expressions and hand gestures, this is ironic because oe of his songs is 'What do you mean'. some people could read further into this photo and say he he looks confused which links to his song and therefore he sings about his own experiences. I am looking at Justin Bieber because I like the look of his style and his swag. the use of direct address is very strong as it grabs our attention straight away and makes us ask our selves what is he doing. He gives off a vibe that he is playful and inviting; i wish this o be explored during my magazine and wish to replicate it in my magazine star.

This is the type of product i am really interested in. i am looking further into pop artists and their styles, I am currently looking for ideas and inspiration from similar artists like Cheryl Cole, Ariana grande, Adele, Edd Sheran,Sam smith, Ollie Murs and ect. Artists like these I am incredibly interested in and I will be taking ideas from different aspects of each individual and putting them into my magazine star. Most pop stars have a similar look and style but all have a variety of showing them off in magazines. I will be looking further into pop artists and exploring the aspects of genre.

i have chosen this type of magazine because i like the colour scheme and the layout, it looks very professional and the layout allows us to focus on the main image . i would like this for my magazine and i will take into consideration to how i should set it out and what colours match their outfit ect. i will also use the use of direct address  Edd has as it created a strong relationship between the reader and celebrity. i like the text of this magazine and i am thinking of using a similar text as it looks funky, proffessional and new.

I have looked into the pop genre because i would like to integrate some elements of this particular genre into the magazine i create. These two celebrities are both in the pop music genre this is something i wish to maybe include in my magazine if i decide to go ahead with a pop music genre magazine.

i like the style and layout of these two celebrity magazines because the use of direct address is key and noticeable but it doesn't make us feel uncomfortable as it allows us to create a relationship. i like the use of colours because even though they are different they both stand out and one doesn't stand out more than another because the effect of the house colours really allow us to be drawn toward the magazine.

the house colours in taylor swift's magazine are very basic and simple but is extremely effective because the use of white and black allow each other to compliment the colours such as themselves, blue and yellow. the colours also allow us to see the main image as it is projected right at us. the use of yellow can suggest that their information is important. The house colours used on iggy azalea's magazine is very different to taylor swifts and is still effective because the colours of the masthead and cover lines compliment the outfit iggy is wearing, therefore i will be looking at more images of how my magazine cover star could dress which would allow the mast head and text to complement the main image

i have researched into the mastheads because  believe that a good mast head can invite a costumer/ reader and interest them. a good masthead can make a reader feel welcomed ad therefore i have looked into different types of mastheads because i will create a inviting masthead but i am looking further into mastheads as it is vitally important that the mast head is correct.

these mastheads are unique in their own way and I will be looking further into this as I will need to decide what type of text I will use for my masthead. Billboard magazine is a pop music magazines. The masthead uses bright colours, which implies within the magazine with positivity and interest, therefore making the magazines is important as i need to create a masthead which is inviting and colourful.

Spin, Rolling Stone, and also mojo magazines cover a variety of music genres in their magazines, therefore all the text used to imply that they are open to all genres and have key information inside. The text is bold because it stands out and allows us be drawn towards it. such colours can identify different things such as red implies danger and red hot gossip or information.

Kerrang masthead appears broken suggests to us recklessness and danger, therefore showing the hardcore metal music which can be played. The use of the exclamation mark at the end

from this I have researched into reggae. I have looked into a different music genre and not so much pop or rock. this image allows me to think of facial expressions i want my star celebrity to have. the colour scheme is very effective and I like it because it has no basic black or white colour to it. I would like to use an idea from this music reggae magazine because it is effective and everyone knows how relaxing it can be to listen to reggae therefore it can be relaxing to read as well.

I have looked into similar band members that i believe i could use on my front magazine. The reason why i have looked at the arctic monkeys is is because they are recognized for the wavy lines in the back ground. This allows the audience/ fans to recognize them. This therefore publicizes them, i would like to create a similar image/ logo on the magazine to allow the audience to recognize my magazine.

The arctic monkeys are from Sheffield, they are song writers and performers who travel the world to perform to audiences. The arctic monkeys have a main black and white theme, this is also recognized by the audience as they have now set a theme therefore it is easy to recognize them.

The arctic monkeys are world wide recognized because of their black and white theme and the music line in the background. They are recognized for this and therefore it publicizes them and makes them well known.They are also recognized because of the group, there are four of them therefore the fans will have favorites.

i would like to take a theme from this magazine because it straight away draws us in and makes us focus on the group and background. I also like the use of direct address used, i will like for this to be used in my magazine because it creates a relationship with he celebrity and reader. This would therefore create a good magazine as the house colours and background logos allow it to be attractive.

Here i have looked at band names and how the text and colours used can be effective. I have looked at how the elements they use can be twigged and replicated into my magazine with my own twist. i will be looking for a font that will be recognizable and a colour scheme that compliments all cover lines, main headlines and also allows the main image to be focused on. In this exercise i have learned ideas of what i can use on my magazine.

A music genre I have researched is band names i have chosen this genre of music for my magazine.The reason I like this genre is because it allows me to see what other types of text bands use, this therefore allows me to think of what type of style,font,size and position i will use on my magazine.

the band name is very important because it is used to allow the fans and followers to know who they are and therefore recognize the name and style. A lot of famous bands have been recognized because of their band name, an example of this is oasis, the Beatles, one direction, the vamps and the arctic monkeys. these bands are world wide famous not only because of their music but also because of their name. 

The photography of these band names are all 2D. In general all band names are 2D to keep it simple but effective. The band names are also edited to be central, this therefore makes the band name to be focused on.

All these band names are quite similar because they are not all indi or rock, also they don't all try to beat each other by seeing who stands out the most, they are all similar in a way although with differences. The types of differences are the different types of font and style, i.e. some have bubble writing, some are thin and a lot are bold to stand out. these types of differences make the difference because it allows the fans to recognize and remember the name.

This is a magazine front cover. On this front magazine it includes a masthead, cover lines, a bar code, a main cover line and also the main image it self. this this help me to create my magazine as it has allowed me to think of ideas of what are where things should be on my magazine, it has allowed me to think of how big and wide the main image should be, it has also allowed me to think about the use of direct address and how effective it can be as it creates a relationship between the celebrity and the reader. I like the layout of this contents page because it is very clear to see where the information is to read. The main image is presented very well as it draws us towards the celebrity but still allows us to notice the text to inform us. The secondary  images are very effective in this as they also bring attention focus to what else is also inside the magazine. The contents page is very effective because the text used  still informs us as the reader what else is to offer and what puffs are there to offer, also the cover lines still allow us to be informed about what is happening in celebrity life. From this i have learnt that the magazine i create will need puffs, text and a main image even on the contents page, and need to be presented well enough so that not only the page looks effective but also so that the text is readable and looks professional.

colour
The colours used are contrasting each other, the colours blue,white,red,yellow and black really allow the contents page to stand out. The colours bring our attention to the main image and secondary images, therefore this publishes the celebrities and their fame.

The photography used is unique for the celebrities, the lighting used for the main image is light and bright therefore this is to allow us to clearly see that she is not a dark character and she is there to be noticed and recognized. The celebrity in the main image uses her clothing to attract the readers attention because in today's society a lot of people wear these types of clothing

I chose this type of magazine front cover because I like the was it is set out. I like how the masthead is presented; the colours mixed together red and black allows the mast head to blend well with the black strip behind it, this is also to make the audience see clearly what type of magazine it is. I also like the fact that underneath the main cover line there is a brief description of what is going on. I also like the fact that the right hand side of the magazine shows us the news, radar, features and also reviews and and the left hand side the band index. This allows the reader to seek the infomation they want.

Colour
I liked the colour for this type of magazine because they all compliment each other and the main image. The use of red black, white and also yellow brings attention to the magazine and therefore the target audience may buy them. The house colours used are to influence the reader what type of music and type of people they are. The lighting in in background lights up his staging therefore indicating he is at a concert,

I like the photograph from this magazine inside cover. I like how the  main image is presented as it publicise'  the celebrity and.makes the audience think of them. This magazine itself looks old and raggy which means and indicates ti me that the paper and celebrities are older now.

Drafting and planning: investigating typography

I chose E as my favorite because it has robotic writing which matches the main image. I also chose E because its is very indie just like the masthead therefore they match and allow the magazine to look professional. The house colours used allow the main image be focused on because the masthead and cover lines compliment the Christina Aguilera and her robot features  

I chose A as my second favorite image because the cover lines are easy to read and the font is just right. the font and size suit the house style and and allow the magazine to stand out. The font for the cover lines suites and matches the masthead therefore the magazine front cover on a whole looks good and professional.

I chose the front cover C as the second last one because i do not particularly like the style of the font of the cover lines. the font is too thick and blurry and is not easy to read therefore it does not stand out. From this I will take into account that the font i will use shall be clear and bold.

The least favorite cover line was image D because the font is not acceptable it is hard to read and does not suit the house image. The font for the front cover does not match the masthead therefore it does not look professional, this would not be a suitable and appropriate magazine front cover.

Overall from this i have learned what type of font to use and what not to do when i come to create my magazine front cover, from this i know i will not have a font size too big or a font that is hard to read, i will be having a font which suites the masthead and house colours because it will allow the magazine to be more professional.

I like the layout to this magazine because there is alot of available space and the information is not so cramped,the information is clear and it shows exclusives and cover lines. I like how the main image is presented as it is very close up because it allows us as the viewer to identify the magazine from fr away. I also like the fact how the use of direct is so strong; as she looks directly into the camera she has the effect of engaging with us and creating a relationship.

Colour:
I like the colours on this magazine because all the house colour compliment the main image, the orange and dark turquoise create a sense of drawn attention onto Adele' hair and make up. I like all te colours within the magazine because they all create a sense of relaxation and calmness.

Photography
I like that Adele has a picture close up as this effect makes us not only see but sense her feelings through her facial expressions and make up. the colours of her make up compliment her features very well and allow us to see how beautiful she is as well as talented, this is done to inspire kids and adults to pursue dreams no matter what because the end result will be worth it.

i chose this type of magazine because the masthead is behind the celebrities which allows the  main image to be focused on. I also love that the main cover line is over the main image; this shows the reader who they are, therefore creating publicity for them. I really like how the magazine is presented and how the cover lines are set out neatly on the right hand side. i also like that the magazine has an exclusive- 'New album' this tells the reader/fans that they can buy their album in store.

 I particularly like the house colours used, the blue, red, yellow, white and black really go well together and compliment the main image.the white background allows the main image to be the main tent of attention along with the key information on cover lines. The colours used are very ironic because they are very colourful and have different meanings and they all are creative just like cold play.

The photography used on this magazine front cover and the content is a music group called cold play who pose a stand using direct message to engage and interact with the audience . the photography shows that Cold play is looking very confident; this is because they have a new album.

Research music magazine

The magazine i have analysed is billboard this includes Justine Bieber and Usher as a feature. this magazine has also of conventions such as the main image, cover lines,mast head and the third left. I find this type of magazine very useful because it will allow me to think of having more than one person for my front cover. it is also useful because it will give me ideas and thoughts to what te person on my magazine will be wearing.
